"What God Gave You Time For"

Our baby doesn't cuddle. Even before he was born he was busy! This little person is a ball of energy. He's now crawling around on hands and knees, and I can barely keep up. This morning was a rare treat. He let me hold him close for a long while, and when he dozed off, I skipped the house chores to let him sleep in my arms. As time passed, the bit of winter light peeking through the window shifted onto his sweet face. Our speed-crawling, furniture-climbing, mess-making babe was angelic. I had a quiet moment to savor the joy of being a mother. Counsel from Elder Andersen's talk came to mind. "[Motherhood] is not something to do if you can squeeze the time in. It is what God gave you time for." How thankful I am for this gift. I am grateful for a kind Father in Heaven who allows us the opportunity of parenthood. I am grateful for this strong, good spirit who came to our family. I am so thankful to be his mom. And I'm grateful for this time- the busy days and quiet moments. So many blessings.

(And here is our day back to normal. Can you spot the baby?)
